Is It Time?

Is a Tub-to-Shower Conversion Right for You?

A conversion makes sense for a lot of homeowners. If any of these sound like you, it's probably time.

You never actually use the tub

If the bathtub just collects dust, it's wasting the best real estate in the room. A shower puts that space to work.

Stepping over the tub wall is getting harder

A high tub wall is one of the easiest places to slip. A low-threshold or barrier-free walk-in shower makes getting in and out far safer.

You want a bigger, more open shower

The tub's footprint becomes a roomy walk-in shower with glass — brighter, more open, and a lot nicer to use.

Cleaning the tub is a chore

No more leaning over a tub wall to scrub it. A walk-in shower with the right finishes wipes down in a fraction of the time.

Built Around You

What Your New Walk-In Shower Can Include

We build the new shower around how you live — here's what we can work in.

Curbless low-threshold walk-in shower from a tub conversion

Curbless & Low-Threshold Entry

Step in with little or no lip to clear. It's the single biggest safety upgrade of losing the tub, and it makes the whole room feel larger.

Custom marble tile walls in a tub-to-shower conversion

Tile, Marble, or Acrylic Walls

The same finishes we use on any shower remodel — custom tile and marble for a high-end look, or low-maintenance acrylic for easy upkeep.

Frameless glass enclosure on a converted walk-in shower

Frameless Glass Enclosure

A clean glass panel or door keeps the open feel of the conversion and is far easier to keep spotless than a tub and curtain.

Built-in bench, niche, and grab bars in a converted shower

Bench, Niche & Grab-Bar Blocking

A built-in seat, recessed shelving, and solid blocking for grab bars — added while the wall is open, so it's there when you need it.

Why Choose Verano

Why Homeowners Choose Verano for Their Conversion

Finished walk-in shower from a tub-to-shower conversion by Verano

Converting a tub to a shower sounds simple, but the part that matters is hidden — a properly sloped, fully waterproofed base so the new shower never leaks. Verano does that part right, every time.

We install both custom tile and low-maintenance acrylic and tell you honestly which fits your budget and how you live. Everything is priced upfront with no surprises and backed by a lifetime manufacturer warranty on the products we use, and we're family-owned, licensed and insured. If you're weighing it as part of a bigger project, a conversion folds neatly into a full bathroom remodel.

Most conversions wrap in a few days, and you can browse recent local projects on our Naples bathroom remodeling page.

Questions, Answered

Tub-to-Shower Conversion FAQ

National figures generally put a conversion between about $5,000 and $12,000, with acrylic on the lower end and large custom-tile showers higher. You get one fixed, written price at the consult so you're not guessing.

If you don't use the tub, almost always — you gain space, safety, and a shower that's easier to use and clean. The one thing we'll flag: try to keep at least one bathtub somewhere in the house for resale and for young kids.

Only if it leaves the home with no tub at all. If this is your only bathtub, we'll talk it through — many homeowners keep a tub in another bath and convert this one. Prefer to add a tub back elsewhere? We also handle shower-to-tub conversions.

Often, yes — we work with the existing water lines where we can. A shower drain usually sits more toward the center than a tub drain, so some drain work is common; we'll tell you exactly what's involved before you decide.

Most run a few days to about a week once we start, depending on whether you choose acrylic or custom tile. You get a schedule up front and updates as it moves.

Yes. We build curbless, low-threshold entries, add grab-bar blocking and a bench, and for full accessibility we can step you up to a walk-in shower built around it.
